How Student-Loan Debt, or Not Having It, Shapes Lives
“Student debt is a new stratification system,” says Professor Charlie Eaton. “It confers a set of advantages at the end of college for people who are debt-free over people with student debt.” https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-student-loan-debt-or-not-having-it-shapes-lives-11669575228?mod=hp_featst_pos3 Understand your aid package by meeting with a UC Merced Financial Aid Advisor and use the Estimated Direct Costs Worksheet - Direct costs are those costs paid directly to the university and billed through your UC Merced student account. Your actual direct costs will vary depending on factors such as attending full or part-time, living on or off campus, purchasing University health insurance, etc. To make it easier to determine your direct costs, we've created the UC Merced Undergraduate Direct Costs Worksheet. |
